Flavor of New England

I took this photograph the day after Thanksgiving in the foothills of the Sierra west of Yosemite. The view is toward the north looking down into the valley of the Merced River. While taking a break at an overlook on what had been a sunny afternoon, warm moist air from the ocean (coming in from the left) collided with cold air coming down from the Sierra and in a New Hampshire minute clouds were rolling down the slopes and rain began to fall. The color in the foreground lends a flavor of New England to this image.

This does have a feel like you get from the east slopes of washington looking down through Pinkham Notch. Great parallel image!

Very nice image! The colorful treetops add alot to this scenic. They add depth, but they also give a feeling of elevation. Good eye. Thanks for posting!
