I used to ski there as a kid, and no it wasn't with wooden skis.

Did you ever ski over in Ossipee? (I love how the McD's has a chairlift coming down into the parking lot)

What about the mountain over in Tilton?

I think I have some of the wooden skis in the basement if you need to borrow them. You can't have the wooden snowshoes with gut webbing - we still use them.

    Default Mount Whittier

As a wee lad I skied at Mount Whittier in Ossipee. I don't remember much about it except that I didn't ride the gondolas across the road. I don't think I went to the top of the mountain, either. I think those gondolas were the only way to the top.

This was all before they invented wood.

We spent a "timeshare weekend" and Mittersill in the 80's before they closed. One of the worst experiences we've ever had. Glad to hear that others have fond experiences and that it's going to be a nice new place again...
