    Default Summit view pictures

I was pulling a set of pictures off my "hiking camera" and found several I had forgotten about. When I drove through N Conway a couple of weeks ago I stopped at the view area just north of town and snapped these. It was very cold so I had to do them from inside the car.

I think that mountain is absolutely gorgeous. When driving into Conway, I can't wait until it comes into view. I love seeing Chocorua, because she is noticeable from so many different places driving up 16 from Rochester, but this one is just breath taking with all of the snow on it!! Thank you for these beautiful pictures, you can't even tell they were taken inside of a car.

I love that area of town. Isn't called Intervale or something like that?

Ever go up Hurricane Mountain Road just across 16? Real rollercoaster of a road. At the very top you can get out and take a deep breath and it smells just like the balsam bags they sell at the little souvenir shop near the overlook.

Nice pics. You're lucky to have had such a clear day during your visit.

I took hurricane road from the Maine side one time (got lost, kinda on purpose, then fired up the gps and selected North Conway and it took me on a fun scenic ride that ended up on Hurricane road.

You can't drive fast on that road, there are so many dips and turns, and you can see the pavement is all scratched up from people bottoming out their cars, ouch!

Great shots of Boott Spur, Loins head, and the cone. What a clear day. That is one of my favorite vistas of the mountain as well.

Hurricane Mt Road is a great way to bypass N Conway of a busy weekend if you are headed to or from Maine. You connect from Fryeburg, Maine to Intervale just north of N Conway on route 16. No RVs or boat trailers please! The hairpin turns are extreme in places. The evergreen stand of trees near the top are really nice to drive or walk through.

The images I posted were not cropped at all. If it were not so cold that day it would have been fun to get the tripod out and the 500mm lens and see what could be caught. It is a nice location.
