I miss St. Augustine. Great place to be around the holidays. The city looks awesome with all the lights. There's an excellent Greek place there, too. we spent a few wonderful days there around Christmas a few years ago.
Fantastic pictures both of you. I will have to show my wife when I get home. Thanks for sharing.
Brad, here's a few lighthouse pictures I've taken the past couple of years.
There's something about a lighthouse that's soothing to the soul.
Rockland Breakwater Light, Maine
Fort Point Light; Stockton Springs, Maine
Bass Harbor Light; Treemont, Maine
Nubble Light; York, Maine
Great pictures. Bass Harbor Light looks like an interesting place to visit. I like the long view of the breakwater in Rockland.
One of the painting we have in the cabin is of Springer Light. that is another that could be interesting to try to shoot.

Looks like this is now officially the lighthouse thread. Here are a few more:
This one is absolutely my favorite. Bass Harbor Light is reportedly the most photographed lighthouse in the world. We spent a week in Bass Harbor a few summers ago and went to the lighthouse for sunset almost every night. The setting and the sunset shots pretty much explain why.
This one is my favorite for obvious reasons. Timing is everything...
Petit Manan Light off Bar Harbor ME. Birds flying over the island are puffins.
Pemaquid Point Light, Maine - under repairs
East Point Light, Prince Edward Island, Canada
Beavertail Light, Jamestown, RI

Mark,
Great shots! I can see I need to get to Bass Harbor. Have not seen Beavertail in a long time. I used to windsurf off there years ago.

The best part about Bass Harbor is that it is on Mount Desert Island. Any excuse to get to Acadia is a good one in my book...
Pemaquid Point is also a really spectacular spot if you happen to be in that area. Hopefully the lighthouse is now unwrapped and back in business. So many beautiful Maine lighthouses.

Mark, I can see why the sailboat shot is your favorite. Truly a great image.![]()
