Chris,
How long was the exposure for? There is not much star movement. Yet, there are two long streaks which could be shooting stars or satellite or ?

This shot was a 30 second exposure. When I pull it up on my laptop you can see a little bit of star trails. So next time I get to the canal I might try a 20 second and see what it looks like. I also have a shot with a good size boat going by so I have the streaks from its lights but the boat went out of the shot by the time the exposure ended so all I have is the streaks.
Chris - having shot my fair share of nightscapes, I would guess you captured a plane's nav lights. I can't really tell in the posted image, but does your full size image show blinking or strobbing (sp?)?

you know you are having a bad day when Captain Kirk calls on you for the away team and you are wearing a red shirt.
The full size image does show maybe blinking and different colors.
The little ones are growing up. This one has lost his spots and red coat. Antlers are on the way.

Nice shot! Will his antlers get very long this winter, or is he still too young?

Loved your picture of the deer Mark. He's beautiful. Will they come by looking for food when winter really sets in?
Don't know about the little ones, but we sometimes get deer roaming through in the winter. I usually toss out some feed corn with the birdseed. Never know who'll come around to eat.
