Corey was back in town and agreed to join me for trying again to get sunrise pictures up at HoJo's. One never knows what sunrise will look like. So, we agreed that I would pick him up at 2:30AM. He accused me of always getting there early, so I waited in the car at the end of the driveway till I was only 5 minutes early. Then I drove down to get him. Unfortunately, he thought I was getting him at 2:45AM and again accused me of coming way too early. A great start to the day. Other than that, Corey was pretty quiet on the drive to PNVC - it was early for him.
We got set in a pretty empty parking lot - no wind this time - a lot warmer and hit the trail at 4:00AM. Pulled in to HoJo's at 6:00AM after traveling on a crusty but easy with microspikes trail. Set up the cameras and laid out lens on the table.
Tried a star shot again with a bit more luck, but the moon had just gone down and probably too much light up there.
A nice shot off the porch and we thought the sunrise had promise.
Then we moved down the trail a bit past the toilets and there is a nice clear view of wildcat from there. Went up on a 5 foot snow drift and planted the tripod and took shots there for a while.
Caught a few nice panoramas by the building.
After a bit we packed up - talked a bit and we were back at the car in 50 minutes. A very nice easy hike before breakfast.
From the PNVC I took a few pictures of Huntington Ravine

It was a nice time and probably the last hike for this trip north. We head to NC on Monday.

. I'm sure Corey won't mind a few more early mornings.
