I saw Hobbs (my name for him) in his favorite lick at sunrise. This is my third year seeing him in spring.
Here he is last spring a few weeks later, May 28th. Check out the how much his body and antlers grow in these two weeks of May. I'll bet he looks like this in two weeks again this year.

a little off-trailing toward a bog, looking for moose habitat...
On the way home I saw the same bull I saw last week (as seen in my last thread) in mid afternoon, not at all prime time for moose spotting...
