Default a hike to Mt. Pemigewasset

I saw Hobbs (my name for him) in his favorite lick at sunrise. This is my third year seeing him in spring.

Here he is last spring a few weeks later, May 28th. Check out the how much his body and antlers grow in these two weeks of May. I'll bet he looks like this in two weeks again this year.

a nice overcast day to hike Mt. Pemigewasset, aka Indian Head

    hobblebush in bloom

    trout lillies

really nice views for a modest effort...this must be gorgeous in autumn...

    moose enjoy views, too...

a little off-trailing toward a bog, looking for moose habitat...

On the way home I saw the same bull I saw last week (as seen in my last thread) in mid afternoon, not at all prime time for moose spotting...

    moose love hobblebush...

    happy trails

Great pictures Patrick. On the last one it almost looks like he is smiling for you. Thanks for taking the time to share.

Beautiful trout lilies. Did you take the Pemigewasset or Indian Head Trail? Would be nice in the fall.
