    I like the way that first photo is edited for a muted, atmospheric effect. But I have to admit I'm disappointed--when I saw the thread title, I thought "fencing" was going to be two people fighting with rapiers!

    Part of the beauty in Debbie's first photo in this thread is the simplicity. The fence is not busy, but there is a lot to see in it - especially the way the boards are mounted on the granite posts.

    There is a cemetery in Fryeburg, Maine with granite posts along one whole side. It is beautiful. Some day I will see what I can do to get a picture of it and not get the messy background.
