black flys?

hi- anyone know the current black fly situation in the whites?

Both my kids ended the day yesterday with about half-dozen bites on the neck each. Given this scientific finding, I'd say the situation isn't good.

Where we are in Maine they have not been very bad this year. This may be because of the very cold mornings we have had over the past month. On Sunday my son reported the dragon flies are out - and they eat the black flies. we might be a bit ahead of the Whites, but the Black Fly season is about to end from what we are seeing.
