Default Looking forward to my first STP

    Hello All,
I am a new member to the forums, and have just joined the Observatory and STP as well. I have viewed the forums and Obs site for some time now, but only recently decided to join both. I am really looking forward to being a part of STP and helping to raise funds. Also looking forward to participating here on the forums and meeting some of you on the hike and at the awards dinner.

Welcome. STP is a wonderful experience. I hiked last year with my sister and brother in law (Tim& Val). We met a lot of great people from the forum.

Looking forward to seeing you at Seek The Peak.

You will have a blast and help a great organization.

We have enjoyed many STP's and they keep getting better.

    Something to look forward to:

    Default Welcome..

The best way to get to know the mountain, the people and the organization is STP. I've been fundraising and promoting for eight years and every year it gets better. Something to really look forward to every July. Welcome to the fold. Warning: it's like a drug. Just ask Brad. He's high on MW all the time!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. July can't come fast enough.

KD, thanks for the warning. I do see Brad's posts everywhere on the forum. The good thing about him being high on MW is that he always has great advice for anyone that needs it.

    Welcome and thanks!

This year will be my 3rd STP. 2007 was my first STP and first real mountain summit. Since then I just can't get enough.

Only 144 more days to STP9!

Wait a second here! I am normal. I love the mountain - even just sitting on the deck at HoJo's looking at her. Is this not normal? Sure it is. I have felt this way for almost 50 years and plan on continuing.

Hmmm, a drug induced love affair. Sounds nice to me.

Since you live so close (Mass) you might think about stretching your legs and checking the heart rate in the beginning of June to go from PNVC back to HoJo's or back into the ravine. See what it is like and help you judge your conditioning. For STP pick a route where you can easily turn back after getting as far as you can. There is no requirement that you get to the summit that first time.

Default Looking forward to my first STP

Yesterday was my first day out and i cannot wait to get back out again.
I took a lesson and just want to get out there and practice.
I am near to both The Rockaways and Long Beach but would also travel east.
Anyone interested just let me know.
    thanks.
