Hello,

This is my first time posting and will be my first time hiking in the whites.

My wife and I have planned a week long hike from 7/21 to 7/29. We will be following the AT from the Liberty Spring Trail Head to Pickham Notch.

I am wondering if this itinerary is a good one. We are both in above average physical shape and are used to 15 mile days on normal terrain.

I have a few questions.

1. Is there a food drop along this route without having to hike the extra miles to Highland center?

2. From Garfield Ridge Camp is there a back country site on the way to Highland that is past Guyot, maybe on Avalon or A-Z trails?

3. Does the trip look fine they way it is, and which parts could pose a problem for us?

4. When we run into back weather we will be leaving the ridges and hiking below treeline to our next site. How frequent are back country sites?

Here is our Itinerary:
