Which STP Trail

Seeing there is going to be so many hikers doing STP this year which is great. I was wondering which trails are everybody planning on taking and what starting times are you all planning on starting. Myself I plan on getting on the trail by 3:30am and I am taking the Lions Head up and the Tuckerman's down. It should be a pretty busy mountain this year so the Obs. better make alot of cookies .

We plan to take the same route as you Chris (same as last year). I wanted to do Boott Spur this year but since this will be our daughter's first hike up the mountain we decided to go with last years route (which was awesome). If I can pry the rest of the family out of the tent early enough I'm hoping to get on the trail around 6:00. Sounds like we'll be passing you on your way down

I am planning on a early start and Lion Head up and Tuckerman headwall down also.

We did Lions Head/Tuckermans in 07, Huntington/Tuckermans in 08. I think we're gonna do Boot Spur this year.

I doubt we'll start much before 6:30, but who knows! Last year we went up and down Tuck's but I think I might want to stick Lion's Head in this year since I haven't been up that part of the trail yet.

Just booked our rooms at Moat Mountain! Yeah for good beer, tasty bbq, and a bedroom just 20 feet away from the bar

Hunter and I were looking for a route that we had not done. This year Hunter suggested Boott Spur / Davis Path / Crawford Path for the ascent and down Tuckerman to the Turkey Dinner.

We will get to the trailhead at 7:00am.

I am planning on my daughter and possibly one of her friends accompanying me this year. Given that they're teenagers, it will be a challenge to get them out of bed, in the car, and started up the trail. Once they start moving they'll be fine, it just the initial commitment.

So we will probably do the closest trail to the house which is up Ammo and down Jewel. If they bail on me I'll check the weather and then decide.

Like a lot of people here, we'll be going up Lion's Head and down Tucks. I think we use the same path each year for STP because we know the approx. time and can feel fairly confident that we will not miss dinner! We'll experiment on other trails when there's not a feast at stake.

We'll have a new STP'er with us. Heather is my sister's husband's brother's wife, WHEW! And also the three of us from last year - Tim, Val and Debi.

I would love to convince Tim to start earlier, but probably cannot get him to agree to be on the trail before 7am.
