Here is a picture I took off the end of the dock last night. Charlie was watching from PA by looking at the lake web camera. :-)

    Wow, so very beautiful!

I tried to hike last night -- my first nighthike. Wanted to get up on Franconia Ridge....however, I was by myself and turned back half a mile up Old Bridal Path because evidentally I am still afraid of the dark. I thought for sure all those night noises were Evil Rabid Scary Thing coming to get me...

Would have been nice to see that moon from on high....

It might be the Evil Bunny that Corey spoke of up on Adams has moved southwest.

I know what you mean about being on the trail in the dark alone. I too am planning my first nighthike down here in PA along the AT in a few weeks. But I will definitely not be alone. Not to mention all the weird creatures we conjure up in our heads, I always think about the real possibility of running into a bear. Or a rattlesnake which we have plenty down this way. I have seen them in the day and am not sure if they're out at night. So, it's just comforting to know you have someone else to rely on just in case.

I never want to see a day
    That's over forty degrees
    I'd rather have it thirty,
Twenty, ten, five and let it freeeeEEEEEEeeze!

Thats funny Trish. When I did STP @ 2:45 and it was darker than Hell and I like a dum A$$ decided hey lets try to shut off the light to see just how dark it really is. Lets just say it is darker than I ever wanted to be in. As for all the noises they scared the crap out of me for a while but I just concentrated on the trail and the hike and after about 1/2 hr I was getting pretty used to it. I can't wait to do it again now. Yes I will be scared again but I guess the more you do it the easy it will become. Atleast I hope.
