Interesting temperature profile
When I looked at the summit conditions just now, first thing I noticed was, "Gee, it's warm on top of George right now"--56.7 degrees. (Warmer than the 49 degrees where I am in Gloucester, Mass., by the way.) Then I looked at the Auto Road profile. It's especially toasty at 3300 feet, at 63.3 degrees. Then it drops 20 degrees down to 43.9 at the bottom (1600 feet).
Cold air sinking in the valley, I guess, but those upper temperatures are quite impressive!

That is impressive. There must be some warmer air aloft. Good temps for Marty to take a summit stroll on this last day of summer.

And now look what's happened...
And now, an hour and a half later, it's 64.6 degrees at 1600 feet -- a phenomenally fast warming up. And 61.3 on the summit.
Yes, I know, I need to get work done instead of checking on the auto road profile every hour...
