My first guess was snowmaking but after watching it again today I think it may be exhaust from heating one or more of the slopeside lodges. Another guess would be- when we hiked the Sugarloafs just west of the Rosebrooks back on January 2nd there was quite a bit of logging activity along Zealand Road. I don't know how much diesel exhaust this would generate, but it may be a contributing factor. Open water on the Ammonoosuc and Zealand Rivers could also be accomplices. It may be a combination of all these factors.

Interesting guess.

I grabbed 2 images from the West camera out of the archive from yesterday morning - zoomed in (maybe too much) to see closer. I do not see the "cloud" coming up from a heat source like a building. Is there an open water river over there that could be forming this?

Upon closer inspection it looks like its not coming from Bretton Woods. It just happens to line up with the ski area, but the cloud is actually over the valley near the Mount Washington Hotel.

It could be open water, but the river in that area is not very big. It might be logging work, but since its there before sunrise I'm skeptical of that too.
