First snowfall in SoNH...

I've been following a number of other members photos on facebook today, and it seems everyone did well with snowfall overnight! I ended up with about 4 inches in Epping, and it hung beautifully in the trees this morning.

I went to a place where a bridge on a quiet road allows you to climb up and get a great perspective on a bit of river for sunrise, where the trees are oriented to catch the first light. When I arrived though...much to my suprise...the bridge was gone?!?!

I was therefore forced to shoot from the side, around construction debris, and there's a funny warning string in the shot. Not a keeper shot, but the light sure was nice though...



I then went back to a marsh near my house, and found my shot of the day!

Beautiful shots, Jim. Winter weather can sure be a two-sided sword. Snow and cold and ice can be gorgeous, or they can leave you stranded at O'Hare airport for a few days.

Jim, to my untrained eye, they are both wonderful shots. It would be difficult for me to say which one I preferred, but guess if pressed for an opinion, I'd choose what you characterized as your "shot of the day".

As usual Jim you underestimate your work. Funny warning string or not the first shot is beautiful - just wonderful light. The marsh shot is certainly worthy of shot of the day honors. What a wonderful start to this beautiful season.

I cant help but think you have a mistaken idea of how we get black backgrounds in our shot. I personally have never done any photoshop work, other then a levels adjustment to achieve it.
