It's That Time of Year Again...

...When I make the cryptic post about how the earliest sunset of the year occurs today...December 8th (+/- a day). Sounds strange since the shortest day of the year isn't until the December 21st, but it's true. At least it is where I live. In terms of sunrise, we aren't so lucky. The latest sunrise does not occur until the first week in January. But, for those of you who dread driving home in the dark...it gets better from here.

This is good news, more daylight later in the day for winter backpacking trips. YES!

Since we walk at 6:45 every morning I'm not a big fan of this. Another three weeks of increasing darkness in the morning (and still getting to drive home in the dark).

I go to work in the dark 5:30 am and drive home in the dark 5:00 .
so it is nice the days will be getting longer
