Charging your portable gear while hiking?
Ok, maybe not while hiking, but while taking a break...
Handheld charger that uses wind. It also has a solar panel, but for staying lightweight, I'd leave that at home.

I have a hand-crank charger/flashlight/siren/compass that I got for attending a conference a couple of years ago. It comes with a bunch of adapters (tips) for mobile devices, including USB, and I have successfully charged a Nokia phone with it. Wish I could give you the brand, but other than the conference logo, there isn't any info on it.

I found out about this from YoGen in an update about the recent CES Show out in Vegas. I had thought about some sort of small solar charger, but they take forever. This looks like a viable option and *says* they can charge as fast as when plugged into a wall outlet (and gives you a workout at the same time!)
