    Default Photo Opportunity

Okay, all this talk about Big Wind and Almost Big Wind (used to be the old Big Wind) has me thinking. Wouldn't it be cool to have a set of folks up on the ridge or even on the deck all flying kites for a photo opp? I have a small kite and I could borrow my son's 2 stunt kites.

    Is this crazy?

Sounds like a great idea to me. Just make sure you have a heavier string than normal or you will lose the kites.

Not at all crazy. That would make for an excellent photo opportunity.

Maybe get the Auto Road and Cog to go along in designating Kite Day. Everyone come to the Rockpile and "Go Fly a Kite". This could be Hump Day 2010.

In this case people wouldn't get mad at you if you told them to "Go Fly a Kite."

Where is that "Gee, Thanks" button?

We could easily have 200 - 300 people up top with the Cog, hikers and Auto Road folks all bringing their kites up. Get Kirk up on the deck with his pano stuff to pull it all together.

I love this idea. Just picture a big group all doing this. The pic below was taken a couple of summers ago at Lakes. The kite flyer is Jack who we met with a another group that was hiking the same route as us. He was flying his kite to celebrate his 70th birthday!
