Ice storm in western North Carolina

Move south and get better weather, right? WRONG! Turns out I moved to Brevard NC just in time for the worst winter they've had for 25 years. All day today I've been watching the ice build on the trees and listening to branches cracking and falling down. This is at 3000 feet elevation---apparently it's not so bad downtown. Nothing concerns me more than having to deal with the effects from an ice-storm, be it downed tree limbs or power lines to the treacherous walking and driving. Best of luck to you in weathering the effects of this storm. I've read it's really hammering the mid-atlantic states.

Good luck Krummholz. Ice storms can be nasty. I am about 10 miles north of Philly and we are expecting 12" - 18". But down in the interior of south Jersey, they might get up to 30" with winds gusty to 50 mph.
