    Default Maryland Blizzard of 2010

We just wanted to post a few pictures of the Maryland Blizzard of 2010.

At our house we received 24 inches where as other areas like Elkton, Maryland received as much as 30 inches.

We experienced thunder snow during the night with snow accumulations of about 3 to 5 inches per hour.

The first two pictures are from Saturday 2/6 while the second phase of the storm was going on.

The rest of the pictures are from Sunday 2/7.

Tomorrow we are expecting another storm with accumulation upwards of 20 inches. We are running out of space; maybe, we can send some to New Hampshire.

    Mike and Donna

That storm was incredible, sharp like a knife cutting its way through. A friend about 1.5 hrs down the parkway got 2 feet, I got absolutely nothing.

We're supposed to get pounded here tomorrow night and Wednesday, not a fun thing for North Jersey....

    Default Great shots!

Reminds me of storms we had in the Boston area in 1969 and 1978. No place to put the snow when you shoveled! We need some up here!

Yeah, Maryland and DC are in the bullseye this year for sure.

'96 was bad in in Boston, too. I spent 40 hours one week in January plowing snow in our company parking lot and loading dock area. Had to keep finding new places to push the snow.

    Default Winter Wonderland

These shots remind me of my childhood as I grew up in The Berkshires.

I miss those two to three foot storms.

That was pretty much the scene from November to April.

Thanks all for checking out the post:
There may be a Part II coming out soon.

JOHN, I wish we could oblige. So sorry to hear you are hurting this winter in NH. Do you think FEDEX would ship?

KATHY C: You are probably in a lock down situation as we are here today.
Everything is at a complete standstill. And most Baltimorians don't know how to handle it.

KEVIN: I agree that it reminds us of years gone by. Wish you had received this 2nd blizzard up your way; I'm tired of shoveling.

M SIX, It has been an unprecedented year for us. With today's blizzard we have broken Maryland's alltime winter snowfall amounts.

STETS, I feel like I am 7 years old once again.

ANNE, Please do post some pictures, if you get a chance. I am sure that we will all be shoveling out the next few days.

Wow, I can't imagine what you are going through down there. First getting pounded this past weekend and now again. Just stay safe.

I don't think it's been as bad as first thought over here , but right now it is pretty deep. I went in to work at 3:30 am and left at 8:30, just to be safe and get hours in, the roads were pretty empty, I did stop for some nice hot bagels to bring home...

So far it looks like the plows are doing a pretty good job. They are predicting that it may go all night and get some heavy bands.
