We are doing tent testing for Backpacker Magazine which consists of setting up the tents for three days or until they fail. So the tent you are seeing on the deck webcam is the last of those tents we are testing. We have reported this in our observer comments (http://www.mountwashington.org/weather/comments/) as well.

It looks to me like a baby crib. Is anyone planning on having a baby and letting it fall asleep out there with those fantastic views?

It is nicknamed "the intern cage" but it is being set up for testing instrumentation this coming winter (and beyond possibly). More information will be made available once things are up and running.

I think some people love the very cold weather but I am not one of them, it's just way too cold up there for me. I just like to see who is nuts enough to go up there and make fun of them to my family. I know it's the wind that will kill you fast up their on that mountain.
