Default Question about Mt Washington web cams

Are the camera image's from the web cams archieved any place for users to go back and look at? I'm just wondering as I was up on the Mt this afternoon and wondering if by any chance I could have been caught on the camera between 1:30 and 2:00 PM this afternoon. I am visiting my parents in CT this week, and my wife, my parents, and our dogs made the trip north today to reach the summit. This is my 4th trip up, but everyone elses first trip up. Thanks for any help!

A member of the obs set up a site on fotki to archive the images: http://public.fotki.com/MWO/saved/2010/ It should be noted that if the webcams aren't working, which occurs from time to time, nothing will be archived. But, you can work your way through the images and find what you are looking for.

    Tom,

Yes, the images are archived at the link Ryan posted. The web cameras must be working - all the links between them to the summit and N Conway must be working - a desktop computer at my cabin in Maine must be working - Time Warner needs to see fit to provide a working link to the Internet - and Fotki.com needs to be accepting a steady stream of FTPed files at a speed and volume they never intended. So, there are gaps in the archived images. But, we have been doing pretty well since September 2006.

The current month's images flow to a set of albums at the "2010" link. On the last day of each month I open up new albums for the new month and swap album names around to switch to the new albums. "Current" albums are in descending order so the most recent photos are at the front. When I archive the albums I move them to folders for each web camera still in the 2010 area. And when archived, the sequence gets changed to be ascending by date as they happened.

The deck camera images from yesterday can be found at http://public.fotki.com/MWO/saved/2010/deck-archive/

It looks like I just missed being on the webcam shot. I think I moved out of the view of the camera just a few seconds before hand. Thanks for the replies!

For a couple of years I have asked that a digital clock be mounted on the side of the tower to be in synch with the web camera image snapping computer. Then we would not be standing out there on the deck waiting just to see that we were not caught. (You can see how much influence I have...)

If you have cell signal when standing on the deck, use your browser and go to http://www.mountwashington.org/weath.../deck/deck.jpg - then you will see if you were caught by the snapper.

or if your an OBS member go downstairs to the gift shop and ask them if you can go up to the weather room and you can see what the time is on the cam picture and see what the time is on your cell phone and then you will know when it will take the picture
or just stand there for a 1/2 hr and you will be on it for sure
