While the number seems big, 500 hikers constitute just a fraction of MW visitors a busy summer weekend! It's a big mountain with a lot of different trail options, so people get spread out pretty well. If you're concerned about the number of hikers and trail congestion, think about the following:
-- Try some less traveled trails
-- Hike on the west side (Ammy/Jewell, for instance)
-- Start super-early and end early... we'll have stuff going on at the tent starting at 3 PM, along with sponsor tents, vendors, etc. Music starts at 4.

Last year Subaru was taking pics at the summit and the line was down to the cog tracks. Not sure if they are again this year. Consider taking your "summit shot" on top of the tower instead. I'll pose for the Subaru shot when IT'S MINE AND I'M SITTING IN IT!!![]()
