May have just found what she saw here?
If this is him, my condolences go out to his family and friends.

That is probably it. My sister might have been confused. She thought it was on M/W. Still sad no matter where it happened. Thanks Bob.

My sincere condolences go out the hikers family and friends. I read about it in my local paper, the one that publishes my seek the peak news release. He lived not to far from me. Let this be a cautionary story for the 500 plus hikers on July 24th. The mountain will be crowded so every one please be safe.

No I don't think you folks have it right. A hiker died on the Tuckerman Ravine Trail This past Sunday. He went off trail to check out top of a waterfall.. slipped on the rocks and got washed over and fell 100-200 feet to his death. Name is Christopher Bailee, 24, of Forked River, NJ.

Lesson: never ever leave the trail!

The NH Fish & Game e-mail I got earlier did mention that he had walked off the trail to look closer at the waterfall. It did say he fell down the waterfall. Stay on the trails folks! Please.
On Saturday, July 17, 2010, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Christopher Baillie, age 24, of Forked River, New Jersey, fell to his death while hiking Mt. Washington. Baillie and four friends were hiking on the Tuckerman’s Ravine Trail when Baillie went off the trail to the top of a waterfall. Baillie slipped on the rocks and was washed over the headwall, falling approximately 100 to 200 feet to his death.
