For the prior 3 STP events I drove 16 hours from NC. I would drive up Thursday after work - then work from home on Friday - hike on Saturday and drive back on Sunday. I am now full time at our cabin in Maine. So, it is 1 hour from the bed to PNVC. A lot nicer.

We drove about 4.5 hours. 12 is a heck of a trek. I can't remember the last time I ever won anything in a drawing, anywhere, so I have just resigned myself to the fact that I won't. But, I love doing STP none the less. The camaraderie at this event is fantastic. I don't know anyone there but everyone acts so friendly. I count the days on the calendar til the next one, Thanks everyone

Go ahead, rub it in Brad!

As far as suggestions, rather than send PMs to Scott, I'm sure they will send around a survey and/or have a thread on here. So start thinking now. Several of us at the dinner were talking about making it a multi-day hike next year, and finishing it on Saturday by hiking down to dinner. (I'm sure we'll do everyone the benefit of showering first!)

That still sounds awesome! MeridenFF and I are gonna look at the maps and get back to you ASAP for input on that trip. Meanwhile, you're right, they have put out surveys in the past for suggestions. I already told Karen (in addition to the great job they all did) that if a thread hadn't been started, that I would, while it's fresh in peoples minds. So here I go.......
