    Default 8/6/2010 N Kearsarge

I hiked up N Kearsarge this morning and it turned into a very nice day. The trail was generally dry with only a few wet spots on open rocks up higher.

The biggest issue with this trail is the markings are not clear or consistent. Some are on trees - others are on the rocks. In both cases they are old and hard to see or find. When snow comes it will be even harder to find the trail.

A note - the door to the fire tower has been replaced - it works.

    But today it was nice.

Nice photos! Just the kind of day for a perfect hike. I will have to add N Kearsarge to the list of peaks to climb. Headed back up for a long Labor Day weekend to cross off a couple more.

I never want to see a day
    That's over forty degrees
    I'd rather have it thirty,
Twenty, ten, five and let it freeeeEEEEEEeeze!

I hiked up there last October, and as it turned out, crossed paths with the woman who installed the door, after she was on her way down. It was a nice hike, but the weather was not nearly as nice...

You can use the double notches that are visible in Brad's photograph and mine to line up the two pictures/views.

Brad - the clouds, blue sky and mountain landscape is awesome in this picture. Very nice photo! I like how you caught the edge of the fire tower too...I think it looks great!
