    Default Huntington Ravine 8/6/10

I had been wanting to give this hike a try since about this time last year. I made it to the fan in late October of last year, but was a day or two late as the slabs were covered in a thin layer of ice and snow.
When we reached the slabs this year there was a fair amount of water on parts of them, but we just made sure each footing would hold before hiking ahead. About halfway up we began seeing several 2-4 person teams headed in the opposite direction. They had rope, harnesses and other pieces of climbing gear. A man who appeared to be an instructor told us that they were practicing their rope skills. We also saw a group of climbers heading up what I think is called the Pinnacle Buttress.
For a couple a hikers who had never scrambled on terrain like this, it turned out to be a great hike and I plan on trying it again next year.

Vids and pics (the order was mixed up between the cellphone and camera pics):

Very nice! So far, Huntington Ravine is my favorite way up the mountain.
