Perseid Meteor pictures

I tried to get photos 2 nights in a row and was not very successful. One photo had a trace. But, I set the lake web camera to be looking northeast - was on 4 second exposures since it was dark - and sent image files to my photo site every 30 seconds. On the second night this is what I got.

That sequence really captured a nice one! I saw two late last night, but nothing as nice as that one.

Kevin, this is very hard to pull off with a camera. I got one shot the first night and nothing the second night. These web camera images I can not figure out since they were "all done for me" by the camera and its FTPing the files. The date/time stamp on the files coming from the camera are 30 seconds apart. The normal low light exposure is 4 seconds. But that leaves me mystified as to why the meteor trail starts up right after the prior image. The timing is almost perfect with no gaps.

I climbed The Diamond on Longs Peak here in Colorado during the Perseids. There was a guy down at the glacier who was up all night with a 5 million candlepower flashlight and a car battery (3 hours from the trailhead!!) who was lightpainting the side of the mountain while at the same time capturing star trails. Cool idea - the face was in the shadows but after half an hour of painting he was able to get enough light on the mountain for it to show up properly.
