    Brad,
    MetroWest Subaru in Natick, Ma. I can give values for a trade without the trip here if someone lives out of the area. This way it's only one trip to pick up a new or used Subaru. If anyone would like to order a new Subaru I can do a little btter than the VIP program...

    Default Subaru Advice

    First, we just bought our 4th Subaru ('10 Impreza) through the VIP program - Do it! It was easy to request through MWO and then we got a great price without any haggling. I'm usually good at bargaining, but it was great to skip that part of the car buying experience.

    We also own an '05 Outback and one of the big differences between the Legacy and the Outback is the suspension; it is raised and stiffer in the Outback. This makes the Outback better set up for dirt/gravel roads, but you pay a penalty during highway driving. The Outback seats are firm and when combined with the stiff suspension, it can be a bit tiring on a long trip. Again, that's from an '05. I've driven the new Legacy sedan (nice ride, but seat cushions seemed a tad short for me), but haven't driven the new Outback - you should probably do both back-to-back. The steering wheel vibe could be a few different things that are easy to fix, we have not experienced it.

    If it weren't for the "cubs" (ours are grown), the Impreza would be an easier transition from the civic. It's closer in size with a whole list of safety features that weren't even around in '92. But with multiple kids, the Legacy/Outback is probably the way to go. Any of them will get you to the next trailhead.

    Here's my 06 Outback. I love the car. I will have to say I'm not thrilled about the Outback becoming more SUV like style wise. I thought that's what the Tribeca was for. However, I've been impressed with my & others Subaru's for their reliability.

    Yes, the 2010 Outback is a bit bigger. But, I have several customers who would normally find it hard to fit in - never mind ride in all day - an older Subaru. And they have no complaints about the 2010 Outback. Wear a hat and still have head room. You notice the extra size when a 2010 or 2011 is next to an older Subaru (like in my garage). I am not big and getting into the driver's seat is even easier with the new models. The extra road clearance is nice in snow - no issue at all.

    We have a 2011 Outback and we took it North a few weeks ago and put over 800 miles on it and We found it very comfortable on long hwy runs. We find the seats very comfortable even thou they are a bit stiff.Of course the mpg was AWESOME.We do have a bit of a steering wheel vibration @ hwy speeds that I will be bringing to the service manager attn when we get our oil changed.

    I am the proud winner of the 2010 Subaru Outback from STP 2009. And today is my (very sad) turn-in day as the year is up this month AND the 30,000 miles allowed on the lease will be used up by end of day. I have 150 miles to go till 30,000 miles. I have driven the car through Mud Season, snowbanks, deep snow, ice and it has been a champ in every way. Extremely safe to drive and very comfortable. We have had 5 or 6 other Subarus (and that is all my wife will accept for herself) and the 2010 is soooo much nicer. More head room, higher clearance, more leg room, just more comfortable all around.

    I lost count but I think I drove this car up Mt Washington 12 times this summer. The variable transmission is so smooth and easy to work with. I expect they will tell me when I turn the car in that everything is in top shape. Even with doing a Mt Washington Auto Road I have always gotten over 30 MPG and normally around 32 MPG.

    It is nice knowing my wife is driving a Subaru because I know it can go through anything.
