Default Autumn Foliage 2010 Will Soon Be Here!

It's a bit early for the brilliant colors of peak foliage, but it's only a matter of weeks before it's here! The snapshot below of the Rocky Branch valley was taken a few days ago. In the foreground toward the bottom of the photo, it can be seen that some trees are just beginning to show a little bit of Autumn color.

    Beautiful John...can't wait!

    Where is this...Crawford? Resolution? Stairs?

Kathy; Jim; Mark: It sounds like we are all eagerly awaiting those wonderful and colorful days of Autumn!
I love NH all year round, but Autumn is unquestionably my favorite season of the year.

As to the location from which the snapshot was taken, it was taken from a little 2,340 ft bare-rock peak that is unnamed and trail-less (of course!).
It's situated about a mile south of the Stairs Col Trail and is sort of midway between the Rocky Branch Trail & Mt. Parker Trail.

In case you might be interested, below is a wider view of the scene shown in the photo I originally posted. This wider view is also looking northward. Also, just like the original photo, it includes Mts. Washington and Monroe at the top of the Rocky Branch Valley. But in addition, it also shows Stairs Mountain on the upper far-left side of the photo. The large cliff face immediately to the right of Stairs is a place which is I think the rock climbers have dubbed as "The Back Stairs", but I'm unsure of this.

hmmm.... you post a lot of intriguing views...but this one is amazing...

Is this the knob? I can imagine a misty sunrise up this valley in autumn quickly ascending my to do list!

    How did you approach it?
