    Charlie,

6:51 PM and I am in a rest area on the Mass Pike So, I am gettig close. My plan for being home for dinner is now - get there before 11 PM. The weather has not been too bad. Traffic in CT was terrible.

    Duh!

Don't tell me you came up I-95? There's traffic through Fairfield County going northbound from 1pm until 9pm.

I highly recommend diverting around the area via I-684 and I-84. Pretty much the same distance and you avoid Fairfield County traffic.

I-95 in CT? Not a chance. I did the Parkway but as I approached Hartford from the south it got heavy traffic. I-91 was not bad till the split off for I-84 at Hartford - so I went to Springfield and got on the Mass Pike there. No traffic at all this way.

The rest area on the Mass Pike east of Springfield is always empty - which can not be said for the ones east of where I-84 joins the Pike.

Our trip was wrought with trouble. The morning we left we had a camper tire go flat, then got stuck in Charlotte for 2 hours behind an accident. Finally made it up here at 12:30 pm on Tuesday and grabbed a room. Next morning we drove to our campsite in Glen, tried to open our pop-up and the cables had come lose so it wouldn't open. Had to go to home depot to get 2x4's and duck tape to prop it up. Had a great day yesterday though. We drove up to the summit and took a quick hike to Lakes and back. Lots of fun! Hope the rest of your trip went well!

We hit traffic about as good as you can coming through CT. I-84...Some slowdowns in Danbury...Smooth sailing through Hartford and the same around Boston.

At the very end of the I-495 around Boston route there was construction last night. It was right by the last small parking area. I should have gotten off at the exit before the backup but was in the left lane and could not pull it off without getting the world mad at me.

There seemed to be a lot of night construction going on. To get to N Conway it would have been easier last night to go up I-93 and cut over. traffic going to Maine was bad.

    Default Deck cam photo

Well, the fam and I managed to get our picture taken on the deck yesterday. We are the small group of four, my wife and two kids and me waving.
