    baby moose at dawn




    reflection in a beaver bog in Zealand Notch






    view to Franconia Ridge from a bog in the Pemigawasset Wilderness






    young bull moose thrashing/polishing his antlers, removing the velvet






    same young bull resting in the wildflowers





    nice big bull in Zealand Notch






    same bull taking a rest






    two good freinds, Sabrina and Jeremy, who I started hiking with after years of hiking solo exclusievly






    intense-moment close-up as he walks by and takes a really close look






    then decides he's in good company and takes a rest with me...











    more evidence that I now hike with other humans...I think this captures a hikers mood























    moose family on Mt. Washington...






    dreaming baby moose as mama watches....yes, I was also laying down quietly with them resting






    after nap streeeeeeeetch...





    nuzzle...






    my favorite-by-far moose, Big Daddy, visiting me for the first time of the season, a precious spring tradition that I hope continues...he's getting old...this has been happening each spring for 7 years. I see him often all spring and summer, then he changes his patterns before the hunt and I never see him again until spring. Here he is coming toward me at dawn in late March.






    and here he is in July, my last sighting of him of last year...he's such a mystery to me...






    very healthy mama and yearling in spring after baby's first winter...





    nice mellow bull in my favorite moose yard on my favorite mountain...
