Hmmm, reminds me of the accident I was in up on Lions Head many many years ago. But, giving that story would be off topic.Originally Posted by rockin rex

Just finished the book North to Katahdin by Eric Pinder. This book caught my attention since the author stated that he had worked at the Mount Washington observatory. What a great book. Come to find out that one of the hikers Eric speaks of in his book I knew from my thru hike in 1986. The hikers name was Bryan Yeaton A.K.A. Queequeg the Harpooner. Eric stated that Bryan lived in Jackson just down the road from Pinkham. As the book stated Bryan flew doing huge mileage. I remember following his log enteries all the way thru New England after he flew by me. What a small world. If anyone knows Bryan tell him I say hello. He will definetely know me. If anyone is looking to read an awesome book written by one of the observatorys own then this is the one. Go grab " North To Katahdin" sit back and enjoy.
"Good Morning Midnight, life and death in the wild"

After I heard about a man climbing to the summit of North Lafayette to lie down and commit suicide by exposure, I couldn't help but become extremely fascinated with Guy Waterman's life. This book (and his life) is unbelievable. I highly recommend it!
