I am not a fan of Red Lobster. I did eat at one in December - so, I am all set for another 13 years.

LOL, that's funny Brad. I just ate at Red Lobster this past Saturday, the last time was about 14 years ago. I'm good for a while too..

Dave and Busters would be easy to find, it's in the Palisades Park Mall, 3rd Flr. It's right on RT 287, can't miss it.

Since the weather reports were not that good for today and don't like driving in it, we took a road trip last night up to Nanuet to restaurant hop. We drove on Rt 59 which is right of off 287, but it looked like mostly chain restaurants and just really congested. We found the Nanuet restaurant on Middletown Rd., but it looked old and not so clean (I have a thing about cleanliness). In speaking with some of the locals, their specialty is the pizza, but not much else.

We drove further down the road and found a place called Crossroads Restaurant and Bar, we went in. I had a beer and some NE Chowder, which was nice and thick and loaded with clams, close to the one I like at Go Fish in Mystic. I'd go back just for the chowder, they serve it on Fridays and Saturdays only. My BF had a burger and fries, he said it was above average good. We checked the place out, it was clean including the restrooms....(I also have a thing about clean restrooms, lol)

They have a sports bar area, nice size and then a seperate restaurant, it was decorated for Mardi Gras another good size space. I spoke to one of the staff and told him what we were planning, they would be happy to accomadate us. I would just have to give them a heads up so they could have staff there, it won't be that busy at 1 pm in the afternoon and they would want to be prepared. They also have plenty of parking.

Speaking to someone else here, he raved about this place and said we'd get a ton for our $$. I still wanted to see other places, so he also told us to drive further down the road to a place called the Porterhouse to check out. They had a nice menu, probably upscale from the Croass roads, but it was Ala Carte and more $$. One thing is they had a smoking room, so when you opened the door it slapped you in the face, I Hated that. We left and went back to the Crossroads, I had an apple martini, a prime rib sand. with fries, it was served with a horse radish sauce and gravy, I enjoyed it. My BF had the chicken and rib combo (he eats a lot, lol) he was pleased with it. I tasted the ribs, not Delaney Hole in the Wall, but good. The menu there overall was good, the usual appatizers, the food varies. The had a whole specialy burger menu, wraps, grilled food, meats, chicken, fish, even if you wanted prime rib and won't bread the bank. I was happy....

Not sure yet what my plans are for next weekend, I could take another drive up to check more places out. But this place was cozy and yet big enough, friendly and clean, not sure how many would be coming. Anything in or around the malls would probably be insane, after all this is the tri state area, it's always congested, that's why I hate it so much..

The Crossroads Restaurant looks nice to me too. I briefly looked at the lunch menu, and the sliders and fries might be my choice if we go there. Thanks for checking the place out Kathy!

I think the lunch menu was only Monday thru Friday, you could get anything on the regular menu.

Thanks, I do see that now. Maybe the Hoboken? That looks good. Everything does for that fact.

In fact, the menu there is a bit different then the one on line, a lot more options. There was alos an Eastern Moutain Sports right down the road.
