Probably lenticulars?
Snow Miser (03-17-2011)
There were lots of pictures of this lenticular posted by NH folks on Facebook yesterday. It was a particularly interesting one. Here's a particularly good set from Following Atticus: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...5409476&ref=nf
Even better are the ones taken at "eye level" by the summit crew. Whole album is here: http://on.fb.me/i40eeB

Great photos of the lenticular clouds over the summit. These are the ones that people constantly used to mistake for UFOS!!!

I drove on route 302 from Maine into N Conway and saw 3 of these clouds stacked one above the other just to the east of Mt Washington. All 3 were close to the same size. Looked like a stack of pancakes. Then off to the east of Wildcat there were 3 more stacked the same way. I tried to find a clear spot to stop and and take pictures, but was not successful. I did get this shot from River Road in N Conway both as a single photo and also 8 individual photos (15.2 megapixels each) stitched together.
