Early Morning Hike on Pawtuckaway Mountain (Middle Peak)

Hi MWObs Forum,

As many of you know, I've had a busy few months with grad school, work and preparation for an addition to my family. I haven't really had time to do much hiking these days. However, the two classes I was taking just ended and I figured it would be a good time to get out in the woods and clear my head. I made it out to Pawtuckaway to hike up the middle peak.

If you have time, please check out my trip report and pictures on my blog. It was a nice, short hike (3.6 miles in-and-out) and was very gentle from an elevation climb standpoint. I believe the summit is only 800ft.

Although this might not have been like a hike in the White Mountains, it was still hiking!! Regardless of location, it's always great to be outdoors and enjoying nature.

And here's yet another "positive", judging from some of your photos, I think it's possibly safe to say that you'll be enjoying the Spring flowers much sooner than us folks up here above the notches!

Very nice TR Karl. Glad you were able to finally get out and do some hiking. And I agree with John, no matter where we are geographically, it's just nice to be outdoors and enjoying nature.

I agree, being outdoors is better than being indoors, no matter what area you're in. I think I'm just missing the Whites a lot because I haven't been up since Oct/Nov time frame. I hope to make my way up there in April to hike a couple of the Moats. I certainly can't wait!!!

No matter how long, the elevation gain or where you hike, they are all special in one way or another. You'll enjoy hiking the Moats!
