Nothing like the access road. Mother Shapiros has best food. Long trail Inn best Bar.

Yup to name a few. The Long Trail is a great stop over for the AT. We usually make it a point to eat at the Gristmill or breakfast down at the Suger Shack.

Well, let see. According to yahoo maps, it's 1498 miles from my front door to the Glen House. Which takes approx. 24 hrs. and 50 mins. non stop of course. A drive we make once a year.

Brad - The flagpole is still flying the colors proudly - every once in a while some yahoo decides to make an issue that a flagpole in the middle of main street is a safety hazard. We even have a large "summer" flag and a small "winter" flag. It's front page news every spring when the flag is changed.

Wow - that is quite a trek. I am looking to head to maine for a weekend March 17-18. It would be nice to get back into Tux then to take pictures ...

I'm not sure on the distance but it's an hour flight or ten hour drive.

I drive about 12 hours 2-3 times a year from Pittsburgh to climb in the Whites. My daughter is going to UNH next year so I should be around more often.
