Hiking Mt. Washington in eary May.

Some friends and I are planning on hiking Mt. Washington during the first week of May.
We are planning to take Tuckerman's Ravine. Is there any advice or tips for us?

We are pretty-well-experienced hikers; we've all completed at least one of OxFam's 100km hikes up and down several peaks during a snowstorm even.

Welcome to the forum. As Tim said, this is still full winter conditions on Mt Washington. The Tuckerman Ravine trail is still closed this time of year and you'll need to take the Lion Head winter route. There are many threads here on hiking Mt Washington at all times of the year. Check them out. Do NOT underestimate the mountain in May (or in any season). Be safe and have a great hike.

Tuckerman Ravine Trail is not necessarily closed this time of year.

It "closes" when there isn't enough snow to cover the cliffs, but there is still snow covering the trail in the bowl. Usually mid-May to end of June with a seasonal variability of +/- one month. So its best to check the official trail conditions. Afterall, the trail is covered with feet of snow all winter and it is climbed by thousands of people.

Regardless, even if the trail is officially closed there are many other routes to the summit. All of them will involve varying amounts of snow.
