Osceolas, 5/10/11

I thought I had missed the good weather by a day, but today's hike of the Osceola's proved to be very rewarding. Cooler temperatures were actually pretty refreshing. The approach from the Kanc is VERY rough...I was expecting a rough trail, but I was still surprised by the rockiness/steepness. Monorail was no help either

Long day! I'm sure the monorail just added to the fun. Nice pics and TR. Snow or not I'm itching to get back up north and this just gave me another push.

Owen, I've left a comment on your Blog, but thought I'd respond on this Forum as well. Your report is outstanding! The photos are terrific and you included just the right amount of snapshots. They were taken at key spots during your trek, and they beautifully supplemented your narrative which was also superb!

Owen, awesome trip report and pics, and I'm glad the weather held off for you, it looks like it was comfortable, especially since its strenuous. The Osceola's are a pair I would certainly love to revisit. Panorama came out awesome.

Thanks Dan! It was cool but not too cold - I can imagine all that climbing would be very unpleasant in summer heat.
I had the exact same thought...Osceola will definitely be a repeat hike (the main peak anyway)

You're so right. That should be getting fixed today though. Not heading quite as far north as I might like but still crossing the border. Should be a new blog post tonight.
