Default Spring Hikes with Emma April/May 2011

I haven't checked in for awhile, so thought I'd share some pics. After bouts with Pancreatitis, a sore shoulder and kennel cough early in the year, I'm feeling much better, and I've been taking Kevin and Judy on some walks in the mountains. Little ones at first, but we're working our way back up to be ready for some big ones and some of my favorite: backpacking overnights!

I'm leading the way on the Boulder Trail up Mount Major 4/2/2011

My view out over the Big Pond from the summit!

One day we went to Diana's Baths 4/16

Another day we hiked Gunstock Mtn. and Belknap Mtn. 4/30

I wanted to ski, but Judy wouldn't let me 'cause my shoulder was still sore!

Next we went across the Big Pond to the Ossipees 5/7

Over there are the hills we hiked last time!

Here I am on the summit of Mount Roberts. I've never been here before!

We had to leave before we were done hiking 'cause it was gonna' rain hard!

As you can see, spring was creeping up the mountains in the Ossipees! 5/12

Here I am on the top of a turtle, Turtleback Mtn.!

It was spring in the valley below us!

One day we went to Pawtuckaway looking for something called wildflowers!
    5/24

Then, last weekend, we went to Rangeley and hiked 2nd Bemis Mtn.

We checked in at Bemis Mtn. Lean-to

Things began to clear as we hiked back down!

So, we went for a boat ride in my uncle's new boat!

Don't forget! You can help me raise money for Seek the Peak which helps support the Mount Washington Observatory. This will the 10th year I climb Mount Washington to help them out!

    That's over forty degrees
    I'd rather have it thirty,

Thank you so much for sharing all of these nice hikes with us Emma. I'm very glad to hear that you're starting to feel better. Please tell Kevin and Judy that I said hello. We look forward to seeing all three of you on the trail real soon!

Kevin, there's something different about your photos. Did you get another camera?

Daddy's been usin' a Nikon D80 with a Sigma 17-70 lens for about 10 dog years now, (that's about 18 months for you).He uses somethin' called Lightroom to make 'em look nice, too. I think it brings out my natural beauty, don't you?
