Condition of Jefferson Notch Road?
What is Jefferson Notch Road like? It just opened for summer. Unpaved roads through parks are wildly inconsistent in my experience, from good as paved to rutted bogs that will drown a jeep, and they mostly look the same on maps. For comparison, I wouldn't want to drive Sandwich Notch Road. My car doesn't have much ground clearance, and is rear wheel drive.

AWESOME! Glad they finally opened! I went to hike jefferson caps and the road was closed 2 weeks ago when i went to hike.
I ended up hiking ammonoosuc trail to lake of the clouds hut instead.
YAY for the opening!

J Notch Rd.
If your car doesn't like Sandwich Notch Road, it probably won't like Jefferson Notch either, though I think overall J Notch is better maintained and basically similar to a paved road, if it doesn't rain. Hope this answers your question!
