The forecast as of now looks very good for Saturday's STP, and Sunday's Sunrise Drive. I just took an average of a few of the weather websites for Twin Mountain, and right now it looks like we may get:
- high temps in the low 80s
- low temps in the upper 50s
- dewpoint in check at around 58
- partly cloudy
- 20% chance of a shower
- winds out the west at 11 mph
Let all keep our fingers crossed that these conditions come true!

Its also looking like Friday is going to be real nice but hot in the 90's. So for those of us that are hiking Friday we better bring the sunblock.

Forecast (as of now):
Thursday into Friday, a weak upper level cold front will roll through. It will likely produce clouds, some fog and a chance of showers and thunderstorms. And given the increasing humidity levels til then, I wouldn't be surprised if a few pop up. Temps in the mid to upper 60s and winds peaking 45-60 mph before decreasing to 20-35 mph.
Saturday looks as though high pressure will build back in, but there are two things that should be of some concern: upstream convection and a zonal flow. But as of now, it looks like the high should be holding as sunny, upper 60s, winds 20-35 mph dominate. But the flow and the possible convection will have to be monitored til then.
As for the sunrise drive, that is a bit iffy. There is a weak cold front dropping down on Sunday. The drive will all depend on how fast or slow this front moves down.

Thank you RK for tossing in the Sunrise drive into this thread...some of us like to close out STP weekend with the sunrise drive. We wait, we listen to the OBS forecast and we watch for the fog...
I've only seen images of the sunrise on the Summit. Hoping to capture it one day myself.
