Wow! A lot of flooding, but it doesn't look like there was too much wind damage.

I never want to see a day
That's over forty degrees
I'd rather have it thirty,
Twenty, ten, five and let it freeeeEEEEEEeeze!

Some photos around Darien: Photos
The saltwater did a number on the lawns and trees in the areas that got flooded. Within a week the grass is brown and the trees have already dropped their leaves. I wonder if the trees will recover next year. If not, some of our coastal areas will look a lot more like a treeless New Jersey barrier island. It's not uncommon for these areas to be flooded, but never during the growing season.
It looks like the Darien area received much more wind damage with all those trees down.

Thanks for sharing those images Ed and Bill. A reminder to us who escaped with so little damage just how fortunate we were. Hope you guys made it through OK. This was such a devastating event for so many.

Keep close to Nature's heart...
and break clear away, once in awhile,
and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods.
