Yes Martha, we do have an Elk Herd in Pennsylvania!
On Columbus Day, Tina and I drove north to Elk County, PA. We had hoped to spend the night but there were no hotel rooms for a fifty mile radius of Bennezette. We spent the day hiking around and photographing Elk. After a long day in the woods, we made the three hour drive home. Here are a few images. I hope you enjoy them.

Yes, our Elk Herd numbers around 1500. No one knows for sure. They keep spreading out in every direction. We now see them near the family cabin, sixty-seventy miles from Elk County.Originally Posted by forestgnome
