December Low Temperature Contest

Wow - we got down to +5 F last night. Someone needs to leave the freezer door open for a while to get in the range for this contest.

We hit our first negative number for a daily low temperature. It got to -1 F. We need more cold to get things into our guesses range.

We are at -4 F here on the summit at 9:56 PM. So, we will have a new low for the month. But, we are not even close to our guesses for the contest.

Looks like it, wish I had checked in sooner to knock some sense into these guesses.

I think there is still a page that shows normals, means and extremes for each month. That is a great starting point for future guesses.

The F6 pages have all of that info. In December 2010 there was a low of -15. In December of 08 & 09, it was -25, so a lot of the guesses are right in the ballpark of recent history.

Good point, I guess December has consistently produced a low number the past three years.

The past F6 reports for December are exactly why I picked the temp I did.

Come on Santa I thought you were going to have a little talk with Mother Nature for us, we're not liking this warm weather....We want SNOW!!!

Oh what's that?? There's a big o' storm coming in from the West at the same time as the "Bad" weather crew is returning to the Rock Pile...hmmm interesting.
