I can't believe I'm actually writing this, but... it's almost time to register for Seek the Peak 13!
A little insider info about the registration process this year (for forums users only):
The Observatory has transitioned from our old, offline constituent database (yes, until this year we had to do manual uploads and downloads for all event, donation, and membership transactions!) into a new, completely online record and event management database. What does this mean to you? Hopefully nothing, other than the Seek the Peak registration form, donation form, and fundraising pages will look a little different this year.
Since the back-end bookkeeping and data processing tasks are still new to us, we're doing a "soft launch" of the site first--meaning it will go live, but we won't advertise it anywhere (besides here, with this post). That way, all you dedicated returning hikers who are patiently waiting to register may do so, but our events coordinator won't be inundated with several hundred new registration transactions on the first day.
December 1 falls on a Saturday this year (when no one's around to answer the phones), so I am proud to announce that registration for Seek the Peak 13 will open on Monday, December 3! Mark your calendars, and get ready to do it all over again!
The "public launch" is planned for Thursday, December 20. At that time, we'll send out an email to our entire mailing list, post on the Observatory Facebook page, put an ad on the Observatory website, etc. You're certainly welcome to talk up Seek the Peak 13 with your friends, but please don't make a big splash (ie., post it on our Facebook page) until after the public launch. Among other things, we don't want to detract from our fiscally-crucial year-end fundraising campaign or our (soon-to-be-announced) membership campaign. Seek the Peak will have its time to shine soon enough!
As always, if you have ANY questions or concerns about anything, please give us a shout directly:

And as always, a great big THANK YOU to all you passionate, supportive, and diehard Seek the Peakers!! Here's to another great event!![]()
