    Default Ammo Trail Head

I'm heading up the Ammonoosuc tomorrow, and I can't figure out the trail head! It looks as though it's off Base Station Road about a mile before the cog, but I've also read there's a path right at the cog that will bring you to the trail cutting off that mile.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

    Thanks!

Way wrong on both accounts, good luck.

In winter the trailhead is several miles down the road where they stop plowing. Unless of course I am wrong and they now plow the whole road. In which case you are correct on both. In summer you aren't supposed to park at cog lot so you have to hike farther.

The winter trailhead is 100 yards shy of the actual cog lot. It's generally plowed, unless it snowed very recently. It was fine last Friday. The usual summer lot is NOT plowed in winter. There is no charge at the winter lot. There should be a track from the lot up to the trail, but if not, the Ammo is to the right of and behind the building and the Jewell is to the left of and behind the building - right where Peppersass is.
