Each year when July rolls around, a group of kilted hikers converge on Mount Washington
to hike in the annual Seek the Peak hike-a-thon. It's always a fantastic event by itself, but
made even better when good friends can get together.
There are quite a few of us kilted hikers these days, and this year a smaller sub-group
decided to hike on Friday, choosing a western route to the summit.
Our route would be the classic Ammonoosuc Ravine and Jewell Trail loop.
Despite the minor threat of thunderstorms, the weather and trail were nice.
Nothing but fair weather clouds out to the west.
From the Lakes of the Clouds, the summit is now clearly visible.
It's always good to reach the summit. And with temperatures down in the valley at
around 85, the 60s up here were certainly enjoyable.
The next day, it was time for the awards ceremony and fabulous turkey dinner
catered by Hart's Turkey Farm. Good Times For Sure!
