I shouldve mentioned it in the post, no it was from March 27 or somewhere around there. I just got a new computer so it was saved I guess until I got back online here with MWO

If you saw this post from ErikHopl and clicked on the links he had posted you will want to run a virus scan on your system. I am almost positive that was the purpose of his post, to infect other peoples systems.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. If these spammer-bots are smart, they're avoiding administrators and moderators to avoid being banned. So if you get an unsolicited PM containing a link that you deem suspicious, please forward it to me and/or Bill O. Thanks.

Since the spammers like to include links and pictures in their postings and as the spammers are usually one and done, has any consideration been given to disallowing the use of links and pictures until a poster reaches a level of say 5 or 10 posts. Or even tightening the above idea further by requiring the above and then being granted an elevated user account by an admin, that would allow for the posting of links and pictures.

Just a thought.

Bill, can you tell what the IP address of these spammers are. If so are they reoccuring? My question would be is this the same person who just keeps changing his username each time he is banned? My guess is that you have the ability to ban the IP address and not just the user.
